Etiquette
- Refrain from excessive public displays of affection
- Show consideration during Muslim prayer times
- Left hand is considered unclean; avoid using it for eating or exchanging gifts
- Do not extend hand first to women
- Refrain from eating/drinking in public during Ramadan daylight hours
- Remove shoes when entering homes or certain religious facilities
- Photography near military installations or police stations is prohibited; obtain permission
- Bring sweet pastries or fruit as gifts when invited
- Show respect to elders by offering seats or yielding in lines
- Avoid delving into politics or sectarian conflict in conversation
