The Festival of Sacrifice coinciding with pilgrimage season. Livestock is slaughtered and shared with neighbors and the poor.

Independence Day

National holiday celebrating the formation of the nation in 1960. Ceremonies and parades are held.

Flag Day

Commemorates the adoption of the national flag in 1954. Schools hold flag-raising ceremonies and historical recitations.
