Greetings

Loud public arguments are frowned upon; gentle tone is preferred.
When handing items to elders, use the right hand while supporting the right elbow with the left hand for politeness.
People are relatively punctual; lateness for meetings or business is negatively viewed.
Photography is prohibited at military facilities, airports, and government buildings; always ask permission before photographing residents.
Eating by hand is common, but urban areas use cutlery; avoid using only the left hand.
When invited to a home, bringing small gifts (tea, sugar, soap) is appreciated.
Eating or smoking while walking is considered impolite.
Sunday mornings are church time for many families; business appointments should be avoided.
Public displays of affection (such as kissing) should be modest.
Plastic bags are completely banned. Use reusable bags or paper bags.
