- Avoid strongly criticizing the military or religion in public.
- Refrain from photographing military facilities or government buildings.
- Family and children are favored conversation topics.
- Handing items with the left hand alone is considered rude.
- Well-polished leather shoes make a good impression.
- During the dry season, dust is common; wiping shoes when visiting is appreciated.
- Tipping 5–10% is customary at hotels and restaurants, even if service is included.
