  • Shops temporarily close during Friday noon prayer time
  • Always ask permission before taking photographs
  • Passing items with the right hand is proper etiquette
  • Only shake hands with women if they extend their hand first
  • Some areas still practice removing shoes indoors
  • Moderate alcohol consumption in public places
  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke in public during Ramadan daylight hours
  • Greet the village chief (Chef de Village) when visiting villages
  • Present souvenirs politely with both hands
