Etiquette

Always stand when greeting elders or guests
Dress modestly when visiting mosques
Remove shoes and change into slippers when invited into homes
It is polite not to drop bread at the dining table
Passing items with only the left hand is considered rude
When offered tea, do not refuse until it is poured three times
Avoid excessive physical contact with women
Check if military facilities are in the area before taking photos
Speaking loudly in public places is discouraged
Before Nowruz, homes are cleaned and there is a tradition of jumping over fire
